course.
Searching
for some cheap lumber for that special pet project of yours would probably have
you traveling or calling one lumber yard after another looking for the best price.
Maybe you might check the local paper hoping that a lumber yard might be having
a sale. It would be a good idea to check that same paper's auction section to
see if someone near you is selling some lumber. Lumber sold at auction often sells
for 80% less than what similar lumber sells for at a lumber yard. There is a good
chance that the quality of lumber will be superior.
There
is some ovious limitations. Selection is the main problem. There is a good chance
you won't know what is available until you arrive at the auction site. Transporting
the pieces can be a pain. You will probably have to buy the wood as part of a
lot. But if you have the time, you will be satisfied with this experience.
