Here
are two Macintosh computers. The one on the left is worth approx five dollars.
The one one the right is worth maybe a thousand if it is working. The difference
in the two little computers is there age.
The
model on the left is called a Mac Classic. It was made in 1990, was rated at eight
Mhz, had one MB of RAM, a hard drive of a whopping 40 MB. These can be found with
abundance at local school auctions.
The
model on the right is the original Macintosh. It was made in 1984. It is the original
Mac. It too was rated at eight Mhz, had only 128 k of RAM and didn't have a hard
drive inside it. You could buy one externally though. It was the first Macintosh
and the first personal computer to have a graphical user interface, allowing users
to point and click to items on a screen with a thing called a mouse. It originally
sold for over 2500 dollars. It can be had on eBay for $200 or less.
